TWO Gavin and Stacey stars reunited today more than four years after the last episode and addressed rumours of a comeback.
The hugely popular BBC comedy last aired a Christmas special in 2019 and earlier this year it looked like we were finally getting another instalment.

During Thursday’s edition of Loose Women, guest panellist Joanna Page– who played Stacey – was reunited with Larry Lamb, who starred as Gavin’s father Mick.
As Larry, 76, sat down he asked the famous catchphrase of Stacey’s best mate Nessa [Ruth Jones]: “What’s occurring?”
Addressing the recent rumours, he continued: “Well, they’re not telling us – that’s for sure.”
When asked by Joanna, 47, if he thought there would be any new episodes, Larry sadly replied: “Definitely not. If I had to bet, right now, I’d say not.”
However the former EastEnders star added: “But I’m not very good at gambling, so…”
In February The Sun told how Gavin and Stacey – which also stars Ruth’s co-creator James Corden as Smithy – could be making a return with steaming giant Netflix battling the BBC to steal it.
An insider told us: “Ruth and James have always maintained they will bring the show back only if they are 100 per cent happy with the script — and they are almost there.
They rang individual members of the cast to float the idea of a one-off special, and every single person was excited and on board.
“To be clear, no agents were called, and no one bar James and Ruth has seen the script — but there’s a lot of goodwill here.
“Obviously the show has a special history with the BBC, and this seems like its natural and obvious home.
“Chief Content Officer Charlotte Moore has spoken to the pair and made it clear she wants the show to stay put, but Netflix have also made it very, very explicit that they want to air it.”
Weeks after we broke the news, James, 45, and Ruth, 57, further sent fans wild as they publicly reunited, with him supporting her at the press night of her new musical Sister Act.
Gavin and Stacey ran from May 2007 until January 2010, with Christmas specials in 2008 and 2019.
