Fans were left horrified by the scene and made over 100 official complaints about his violent death.
Thankfully Davood by contrast is alive and well, and viewers who appreciated his acting skills will be excited to hear he has joined the cast for a new Prime Video series.
House of David has been commissioned by Amazon MGM Studios and new faith based production company The Wonder Project.
The religious drama is set to follow the story of biblical figure David, who became the King of Israel.
Michael Iskander is stepping into the central role as David.
The Egyptian American actor will portray the teen starting off as a shepherd before eventually rising to power after being singled out by prophet Samuel as the nation’s next leader.
During the course of the story the original ruler, Saul, will slowly fall from grace and lose control of his kingdom as David rises through the ranks.
House of David is expected to feature the violent battles and fiery romantic encounters that took place during the protagonist’s life story.
Davood Ghadami has been cast as David’s oldest brother Eliab, who serves as a prestigious warrior in King Saul’s army.
Vernon Sanders, head of television for Amazon MGM Studios, shared: “When we met with [the founders of The Wonder Project] their clear and passionate vision and their ambition to nurture universal stories of love, triumph, and spirituality moved us.
“We are very excited about the scope, scale and storytelling involved with House of David and look forward to sharing this epic and many others with our global Prime Video customers.”
Director Jon Erwin added: “House of David is our telling of a 3,000-year-old hero’s journey, and it all starts with our David, Michael Iskander.
“Finding Michael and getting to work with him has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life.
“Our entire cast is incredible, and I can’t wait for a global audience to get to know them the way I do.”
