ONE of the main hosts of BBC Breakfast has officially made a return to the box after ‘going missing’.
On yesterday’s edition Nina Warhurst sat on the sofa alongside Jon Kay, 54, but fans are not happy.
Sally Nugent, 52, was back on the iconic BBC Breakfast red couch as she made her way onto the airwaves once again.
She wore a sleek cream and beige ensemble as she gave viewers the latest news and updates from across the country.
Her co-host Jon threw to her for a standalone segment by the bulletin screen as she stunned in her satin cream sleeved top and summer trousers.
Although her co-star seemed more than happy to have her back, it seems that some of the BBC viewers were not so full of praise.
They flocked to social media as they posted on X – formerly known as Twitter – to let their views be known.
One fan wrote: “#bbcbreakfast Sally is so scripted. She’s looking down reading questions and even when she interjects it sounds like she’s reading the interjection. Painful.”
A second sarcastically noted: “Sally’s back on #bbcbreakfast … yay
.”
“To be fair, sally seems to have had her Weetabix this morning,” as a third viewer joked on the platform.
But a fourth cynical user had a slightly different view as they posted: “#BBCBreakfast nice one sally for putting that t*** Mel stride on the spot”
Her previous replacement Nina, has been filling in for a number of days on the corporation’s flagship programme.
Yesterday they called for the star to have a more permanent role on the long-running show.
One enthusiastic fan noted: “Hello @BBCBreakfast. I think you should give Nina Warhurst a full time role on the programme, she’s too good and not on enough for my liking. #BBCBreakfast.”
As a second echoed: “#BBCbreakfast Nina’s looking very summery this morning.”
This comes after she also filled in for Naga Munchetty, 49, for a number of days last week.
